Adam Karami, a Philadelphia-based computational biologist, moved to the U.S. from Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2007. “Growing up in the world’s largest predominately Muslim country meant that I was tapped into the shared global consciousness of Muslims everywhere,” he says.
