She first noticed that many rooms had recording capabilities in her first year at NYU, and started looking for ways that events put on by the DSU could be available via Zoom so that those who were unable to attend the event could still be included. While Beck was able to work with the university to get most DSU events online, she says administrators were less eager about making recorded lectures the norm.
