Hal instructs (and snaps at) Alice to take out her tape recorder, and once she does, he admits that great grandpappy Cooper (the one who changed the family name to Blossom) wasn’t murdered by his brother — he did the killing, then took on the Cooper name. He kneels in front of Betty and makes her say out loud that he’s the Black Hood and list off all his crimes (though, importantly, the debate fiasco last week was not him). mtb bear bell deep exchanges almost to perfection.
