Iâm 30. I feel like no one around my age can possibly believe in American exceptionalism anymore. Weâve seen nothing but massive failure. These colossal national failures rendering the myth of American exceptionalism conclusively dead â the book took this as an assumption. I do think this myth of national unity lingers on in this sense of getting rid of Trump, getting things fixed, and that Joe Biden will unify the nation, which is malarkey, as they say. Other countries have these same massive social divisions that we do. I write at the end of the book that we point at countries like Syria or Iraq or Sudan as these post-colonial creations of former imperial masters who drew lines on a map and that perfectly well explains the U.S. Yes, weâve survived for 250 years, I think thatâs to some extent a fluke or based on odious moral compromises, but thatâs what we are â a post-colonial nation that has these very arbitrary lines drawn. I think weâre much less exceptional than we thought, or itâs because of that inherent fragility of the union that itâs constantly threatening to break apart.TV: zipp road bike What do you think about that? Like the rise of K-pop and everything. And do you think it's kind of weird that a quote-unquote foreign act is always the one that breaks through though? It's the same thing with Latin-x music and "Despacito." It's like, really?A: zipp road bike As a field director, I train people to have effective canvassing conversations which bring out their own voice and their own stake in this election — and help them find the best ways to be effective in our community. I write sample scripts to model our ideal way of engaging our neighbors in longer, more meaningful conversations at the door. In training, our volunteers practice and personalize these conversations, learn more about why this kind of “deep canvassing” is effective, and are also taught about specific procedures (like how to collect ballot access petition signatures). Outside of these group trainings, I also have one-on-one meetings with volunteers throughout the week to help develop and support their leadership roles. zipp road bike Yeah. Every moment on set we bonded. The rapport that was there was incredibly goofy, friendly. I remember this one night we were wrapping this big group scene and it just resulted into this dance battle as we wrapped, like as we called the shot, we just started to dance battle. That was very memorable. There's this one location where we did group shots kind of a lot and after a while, it kind of felt like home. It was a good thing.TV: zipp road bike
