Leeds took inspiration from the appearance of popular former player Rob Burrow on an emotional evening at Headingley to grind out an 18-12 victory over Huddersfield that keeps alive their Super League play-off hopes. q2518140 The Black and Whites continue to be an enigma, don't they? Injury and inconsistency dogged them again in 2021 and an eventual eighth-placed finish, not to mention the ignominy of having to watch their bitter rivals from the east of the city reach the play-off semi-finals, has prompted more change - and I actually think they've done a great bit of business here. q2518140 A series of defensive errors enabled Leeds to tighten their grip and Huddersfield coach Ian Watson responded by withdrawing Louis Senior and switching full-back Ashton Golding to the wing. q2518140 The fans clapped in the seventh minute for the former Leeds No 7, and they were cheering again nine minutes later when acting captain Ash Handley opened the scoring, finishing off a break, fittingly from scrum-half Callum McLelland, for his third try in as many matches. q2518140
