Emily and Jake were compelled to make the film after speaking with survivors in the immediate aftermath; starting with Sam Zeif, a Parkland senior whose texts with his brother during lockdown went viral. “We were both taken aback by how articulately he was able to describe what he went through,” Jake says. “We were blown away by it. It was like the air was sucked out of the room.
