This week is full of romantic moments as both you and your summer crush finally get it together to be able to admit your feelings to each other, and make the most of your fleeting vacation time. Chances are you will more than make up for lost time and will be the talk of the school year. Part of that stemmed from feeling like friendships between two women are portrayed [poorly in media] — there are elements of selfishness, or they sometimes butt up against each other. But I wanted to kind of write a story that felt more like my friends and like my communities. There was also this feeling of like, never really getting to see women of color from different racial backgrounds be friends on-screen, despite that being my whole life. So I wanted to highlight that.
